Attention: Nortel PBX Users in Northeast Pennsylvania!!

Nortel is gone, so where does that leave you? Your company invested in their equipment, and now you’re left hoping that Avaya will support your needs until the life of the system has ended, but how long can the service continue? And when will you be stuck with a broken PBX telephone system and not know where to turn?

If you have a Nortel PBX telephone system most likely you have been satisfied with its performance, because it was a quality product. But since Avaya acquired Nortel’s telephony customers in 2009, and parts for the systems are no longer being produced, this situation can become very expensive for you.

Who is going to service obsolete Nortel equipment, find the required refurbished parts, and what will the cost be for maintenance? The expense can be enough to make you realize investing in a new phone system equipped with IP capabilities will save you big in the long run, rather than trying to keep up with an outdated Nortel PBX system.

Avaya is attempting to upgrade these Nortel customers to their telephone systems, but that outlook could possibly be a gloomy one as well if their financial situation continues in the same direction.

You could always invest in another PBX Legacy system with another vendor, but this will also probably leave you out in the cold eventually as well. I say this because all vendors are moving towards only developing IP products in the coming years since the realized benefits of this quickly evolving instrument. VoIP has been the change in technology that is developing to be the new face of the professional telephone industry.

VoIP technology is only moving forward and you don’t want to get left in the dust, because you could be missing out on cost cutting and productivity increasing possibilities.

With IP telephony, your phone system is more software based then it is dependent on the equipment itself (like your current PBX system is). You have the choice to deploy PBX if desired and incorporate IP services wherever needed for a gradual move. Or move completely over to cloud technology (IP telephony services provided directly from the internet), allowing you to quickly acquire features required or change ones that are no longer needed, while drastically lowering required maintenance and cost.

Cloud services are the new wave of enterprise telephony and can they save your company a lot of stress, money and space consuming wiring cabinets. Even the required maintenance is practically diminished when moving to the cloud!

All you will need are your telephones and an internet connection and the cloud will deliver everything right to you. Changes to your features are done by a simple click of the mouse, drastically reducing wiring, equipment and software cost associated with these changes for a PBX system. The quality of your phone services will stay the same, but the possibilities of support will be endless.

Cloud services can create benefits from a lot of different aspects for your company, but make sure you do your homework. Vendors’ billing systems can be very different in respect to the cost of features, equipment options and service assistance. So make sure your new vendor will best fit your needs.
